KICS HERALD ON MAY
KICS SPORTS DAY April 28, 2023 – the Korean National Anthem echoed throughout the field, signaling the grand opening of 2023 KICS Sports Day. Students from every grade–1st to 12th graders–including the kindergartens participated in the 2023 KICS Sports Day. Since sports days were skipped for three years from 2020 to 2022 due to COVID-19, all participants–students, their families, and KICS faculties– seemed full of joy and excitement throughout the day. Parents, teachers, and students came together and worked as a team, enjoying the opportunity to build strong, intimate bonds with each other. There were three teams: the White team–consisting of Incheon campus students and teachers of even grades; the Blue team–consisting of Incheon campus students and teachers of odd grades; the Red team–consisting of all students and faculties from the Seocho campus. Each and every grade prepared and wore its class uniform with the same team matching their team color. With a Point Board for each team, three teams competed for 1st place. Every participant cheered and did their best for their team. The morning event of the sports day was Team Competition. The following are several games played: “Red, White, Blue Carpet” kindergartens walked on a “carpet” that upper-level students made using a large fabric “Roll the Ball” Students rolled the ball without touching it with their hands, but by using a large fabric. “50m Banana Boat Race” Incheon campus teachers and Seocho campus teachers did a race that needed teamwork between four teachers.
